A Rose For Emily

I have only ever read one Faulkner piece and that was As I Lay Dying, and it wasn't very interesting. I enjoy a good classic but I'm not too particularly fond of Faulkner's works. A rose for emily is set in the south, like most of Faulkner's stories and books. The first interesting thing about the story is the narrator, who remains unknown throughout the story. He acts as the voice of the towns people, but can he be perhaps Tobe? a few times in the story he refers to her as Miss Emily. I guess I'll leave that up to your interpretation. I think the story was overall a bit creepy.

  1. I'm not a huge Faulkner fan, myself! I think he's way too wordy, and he was a bit of an egomaniac.

As I Lay Dying is one of the more boring ones. The Sound and the Fury was a *little* better, but if you can't get into his style, it's hard to enjoy him. I'm with on this one.
